About me

I recently made the decision to depart academia in order to seek exciting opportunities contributing my background in research linguistics to industry applications. I have a Master's degree in linguistics from UCLA where I focused on articulatory and acoustic phonetics as well as computational phonology. From my Master's in sociolinguistics from North Carolina State University, I acquired expertise in language variation and change in American English using innovative laboratory phonology methods and advanced statistical analysis. To sum up my interests, I am passionate about exploring the ways in which things in the world can be different, how individuals make use of or respond to those differences, and how to quantify them.
I'm looking for opportunities in my new home of Pittsburgh, PA where the data science, technical writing, language technology and other industries are appealing to someone like me. In particular, I am seeking positions in which I can both apply my skills and talents as well as do what I love most—continue to learn and grow—in a challenging collaborative environment. On my website, you'll find information about my academic training and research projects as well as a little bit about me personally. I look forward to making differences outside of academia which are closer to the lives of individuals, clients, and business in Pittsburgh!
